Five F1 teams unveil special designs for the US Grand Prix

Five of Formula 1’s 11 teams will use special designs at the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.

Ferrari, Mercedes and Aston Martin have revealed new car liveries, joining Haas and Cadillac, which had announced their designs earlier.

Ferrari’s design draws on car engineering sketches, while Mercedes has added blue details to promote its customisation service.

Aston Martin’s livery marks five years of partnership with technology company Cognizant.

Haas and Cadillac have chosen contrasting themes: Godzilla for Haas and the American West for Cadillac.

The designs give teams a way to mark the high-profile US race and promote partners, while Red Bull will change its race suits but keep its car livery unchanged.

First practice is scheduled to begin at 4:30am AEDT on Saturday.
