Three lawyers investigated over allegedly fake transfer order for prisoner
Police in Mato Grosso are investigating three lawyers suspected of falsifying a court order to move a prisoner from a federal prison in Paraná to Cuiabá.
The prisoner, Miro Arcangelo Gonçalves de Jesus, known as Miro Louco, is described as a founder of the Comando Vermelho in Mato Grosso.
A court had previously rejected his transfer request, and the investigation says a later document appeared to authorize the move.
Court staff found that the document was not issued by the judge or recorded in the case, and that it had signs of alteration.
Police carried out four searches in Cuiabá for phones, computers, documents and other evidence.
The lawyers are suspected of creating or presenting the false document, but the investigation is ongoing and no charges are stated in the reports.
The searches aim to establish how the document was made and what role each suspect played.
