Public invited to help shape Queen Elizabeth memorial in Scotland
The Scottish Government has opened an online portal to gather views on a permanent memorial to Queen Elizabeth in Scotland.
People can suggest its purpose, design, size and location, and share memories of the late queen.
Community events led by Lord Lieutenants are also planned for this autumn.
Elizabeth died in 2022 at Balmoral in Aberdeenshire, and had a strong connection to Scotland.
The project is being developed by the Scotland Legacy Group, with £1.4 million in UK Government funding.
Public feedback will help shape options for a memorial that could contribute to Scotland’s cultural, heritage, environmental and community life.
The portal is open until December 13, and recommendations are expected in spring for Scottish ministers to consider.

What people are saying
We want to hear a broad range of voices, from community and cultural organisations to schools, young people and those with a particular connection to Queen Elizabeth.
The online engagement portal is a key part in the work of the Scotland Legacy Group, and I am delighted that we are now at a stage where it is open for the public to give their views.
