Apple says Siri handles more than 2.5 billion requests a day

Apple says Siri handles more than 2.5 billion requests a day, including everyday tasks such as setting alarms and sending messages.

CEO John Ternus repeated the figure during Apple's fiscal fourth-quarter results discussion.

Apple previously said Siri handled 1.5 billion voice requests daily in 2024, but the figures may count different kinds of requests, so they do not show clearly how much usage has grown.

The company is rolling out an AI overhaul that lets Siri use personal context, answer more complicated questions and take actions across apps.

The new features remain in beta and are not available to everyone; eligible users must join a waitlist, and some AI features have daily limits.

Apple has added French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, while regional restrictions still apply.

Apple has not said how many people use the AI features, and broader access may eventually require payment.
