Comce forecasts Mexican exports will top $800 billion in 2026
At a trade congress in Monterrey, Comce president Sergio Contreras Pérez forecast Mexican exports above $800 billion in 2026.
His projection, based on performance through September, points to 30% annual growth; exports reached $665 billion in 2025.
Manufactured goods make up 92% of exports, reflecting Mexico’s role in international production chains.
Contreras said the country should now increase the value added in exports and bring more Mexican suppliers, especially small and medium-sized businesses, into those chains.
More domestic suppliers could spread investment, technology and better jobs across the Mexican economy.
Demand for equipment used in artificial intelligence is also creating opportunities: Mexican computer-server exports exceeded $83 billion, up 90%, according to figures Contreras presented.
He said taking fuller advantage of these opportunities will require infrastructure, energy, skilled workers and innovation, while the review of the USMCA and expanded ties with the European Union are among the trade avenues ahead.
