Prithvi Shaw leads Maharashtra to victory and focuses on cricket and family

Prithvi Shaw captained Maharashtra to a win over Services in their Ranji Trophy season opener in Palam.

Maharashtra bowled Services out for 120 on the final day, after Shaw helped lead the team in the absence of Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Shaw, 26, scored 70 in the first innings and said he is working harder than before.

He has stepped away from social media and is concentrating on cricket, his family and himself.

Once a teenage star who captained India to the Under-19 World Cup title in 2018, Shaw has played five Test matches for India.

He still wants to return to the Indian team, but says his main challenge is against himself.

Staying consistent will matter as he competes with other openers for a place in the national side.
