Satellite images show 80-metre yacht near Kim Jong Un's Wonsan retreat
Satellite images show four large vessels near Wonsan, North Korea, where Kim Jong Un and his family have a seaside retreat.
The largest is an 80-metre yacht with a 50-metre pool and water slides, seen off the coast from July to mid-October.
The vessels were also spotted near the family’s villa and nearby islands, and are believed to be used by Kim and his family.
Wonsan has long been associated with the Kim family, and defectors say the area’s villas have served as retreats for the elite.
The displays of luxury stand in sharp contrast to widespread hardship and food shortages for many people in North Korea.
Satellite images cannot prove where Kim or his family were, but the vessels’ movements offer clues about activities that are rarely made public.
