China's Taiwan Affairs Office backs artists' National Day messages
At a news briefing on October 14, China's Taiwan Affairs Office backed Taiwanese artists' National Day greetings.
The office was asked about artists who sent greetings during China's National Day period and a dispute over what Taiwan's Mainland Affairs Council called “two red lines.”

Spokesperson Chen Binhua said the greetings showed sincere patriotic feeling and described such expressions by Taiwanese people as natural.
He accused Taiwan's ruling Democratic Progressive Party authorities of threatening artists, calling their actions “green terror.”
He said those actions hurt Taiwanese people's national feelings and were unpopular; the briefing gave no further steps.
