Nintendo Makes November 1 Pikmin Day and Announces Game Updates
Nintendo has made November 1 an annual Pikmin Day to raise awareness of the game series.
Shigeru Miyamoto said the date was chosen because three Pikmin standing together resemble the numbers 11.1.
Nintendo announced updates for Pikmin 4 on Switch 2, including microphone commands for the dog-like companion Oatchi and a challenge mode called Dandori Academy.
A free demo of the Switch 2 edition is due November 2, and the game is scheduled to launch November 12.
The mobile game Pikmin Bloom will add Secret Caves this winter, where players can explore, battle creatures and find treasure.
Nintendo also introduced a new series of Pikmin animated shorts, with another episode due November 1 and monthly releases planned from December.
