JustWatch launches its own streaming service in 12 markets

JustWatch has launched its own streaming service, called JustWatch TV, moving beyond its movie and TV search guide.

The service is available through JustWatch’s existing apps and website in 12 markets, including the U.S., the U.K., Germany and Australia.

Its free tier offers ad-supported titles, while JustWatch TV Plus has more than 300 ad-free titles in the U.S. The paid option costs $3.99 a month or $49.99 for a lifetime subscription, and subscribers get 10% off hundreds of rentals.

A movie rental store is initially available in the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, with more markets planned.

The move could help JustWatch grow its audience data as it adds a streaming service to a guide used to find where movies and shows are available.

Users can request titles they want to see, which JustWatch says will help shape the service’s content.
