Suspected Los Rugrats financial operator arrested in Mazatlán

Federal forces arrested José Luis “N”, known as “Wicho” in Villa Unión, Mazatlán, in the Mexican state of Sinaloa.

Authorities say he was a financial and logistics operator for Los Rugrats, a criminal group active in Sinaloa and Durango.

They say the group is aligned with the faction of Mayo Zambada within the Pacific Cartel.

The United States wants Wicho over alleged cocaine possession with intent to distribute in the Central District of California.

Security forces seized weapons, drugs, cash and a vehicle during the operation.

The seized items were handed to Mexico’s federal prosecutor’s office in Mazatlán.

The office will continue its investigation and determine Wicho’s legal situation.
