Elden Ring Film Reportedly Has a Budget Near $200 Million

A live-action film based on Elden Ring reportedly has a budget near $200 million.

The film is directed by Alex Garland and is being made by A24, the studio behind films such as Marty Supreme.

If accurate, the budget would make it A24’s most expensive movie, nearly three times the reported $70 million cost of Marty Supreme.

Elden Ring is a fantasy video game developed by FromSoftware, with world-building contributions from writer George R.R. Martin.

The film must bring the game’s large fantasy world and story to the screen, while the reported spending raises expectations for both its commercial performance and quality.

Filming wrapped in July, and the movie is expected to premiere on March 3, 2028.

Earlier reports put the budget at just over $100 million, so the final figure has not been confirmed.
