Party Expert pulls Angine de Poitrine-inspired Halloween costumes
Party Expert removed unofficial Halloween costumes based on Angine de Poitrine from its stores and website.
The retailer had sold outfits resembling the Quebec music duo’s black-and-white polka-dot suits and masks.
The costumes were listed as “Polka Dot Attack” pieces, rather than official band merchandise.
Employees told a local newspaper the removal followed a legal notice, though the company has not publicly explained its decision.
The costumes drew attention as Angine de Poitrine’s popularity grew, including after a live performance reached more than 20 million YouTube views.
The band recently won two Polaris music prizes, adding to its profile in Canada and abroad.
The band’s team declined to comment, and fans can still make their own outfits inspired by the duo.
