Danika Mason will leave Today after maternity leave

Danika Mason has decided to leave Australia’s Today breakfast show after her maternity leave.

She announced the decision on air, saying she could not balance the show, her NRL work and a new baby.

Mason is expecting her first child with partner Liam Knight, and the baby is due in December.

She joined Today in 2025 and said she had enjoyed working with its team and viewers.

She will return to Nine for NRL coverage, but not to the breakfast program.

Her exit is the latest in a series of presenter departures from Today since June.

New hosts Sylvia Jeffreys and Tom Steinfort have been announced, though Jeffreys is also likely to take maternity leave early next year.
