Harfuch says Amílcar Olán is locatable; FGR must confirm any investigation

Businessman Jorge Amílcar Olán Aparicio is at the center of scrutiny in Mexico over alleged links to criminal figures and government contracts.

A columnist has claimed that Mexico’s attorney general’s office and financial intelligence unit have two investigations involving him, but those claims have not been confirmed by the authorities in the second account.

The reported inquiries concern a transfer of 1.4 billion pesos to his sister and possible money laundering involving six companies.

Security Secretary Omar García Harfuch said Olán is locatable, but did not say where he is.

He said the attorney general’s office must confirm whether Olán is in an investigation file and how many files there are.

The scrutiny also follows audio recordings that reportedly refer to Olán’s alleged connections with a criminal operator and contracts at the Dos Bocas refinery.
