‘Perfect Road’ Follows a Nomadic Cyclist Across Europe’s High Mountain Passes
Danish cousins Adam and Christian Bonke made a documentary about nomadic cyclist Maximilian Schnell.
They followed Schnell across some of Europe’s highest mountain passes, filming his journey and daily life.
The directors and cinematographer spent three months living in a campervan to keep up with him and reach roads the larger vehicle could not travel.
The film shows that Schnell trades comfort for freedom, while facing demanding physical and mental challenges.
It also reflects on life choices and the limits of conventional routines, which the filmmakers said they reconsidered after meeting Schnell.
After its world premiere in Zurich, the film is screening at Tallinn Black Nights in Estonia.
