NCTV warns Dutch organisations are not keeping pace with cyber threats
The NCTV says Dutch organisations are not strengthening cyber defences fast enough to keep up with rising online threats.
The warning concerns companies, organisations and government bodies across the Netherlands.
The NCTV says the gap increases the risk of espionage, data theft, sabotage and digital service outages.
Recent incidents include attacks on Ahold Delhaize and Odido, as well as foreign hackers accessing Dutch officials’ messaging accounts.
The attack on Ahold Delhaize disrupted shops and online services, while Odido customers’ data was stolen.
Justice and Security Minister Van Weel urged organisations to use the latest technology to protect their networks.
The NCTV describes the situation as a serious national security risk, and the minister says action is needed now.
