Braves bring back Dana Brown as senior scouting adviser

The Atlanta Braves have brought back Dana Brown as a senior adviser in their amateur scouting department.

Brown previously served as the Braves’ vice president of scouting from 2019 to 2022, then became general manager of the Houston Astros.

His return renews a long working relationship with Braves president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos, whom he first worked with in Montreal.

Brown has decades of experience in amateur scouting, the work of finding and evaluating young players.

As Astros general manager, he led Houston to the American League Championship Series in 2023 and two AL West titles in his three full seasons.

The Astros parted ways with Brown in August after recent playoff struggles, including missing the postseason in 2025.

He now returns to Atlanta to advise its amateur scouting department, where he may resume work similar to his previous role.
