Regional transport workers in the Netherlands to strike Thursday
Regional transport workers in the Netherlands will strike again on Thursday, October 22, reducing bus and regional train services.
It is the second nationwide strike as talks over a new employment agreement remain deadlocked.
The dispute affects about 13,500 workers, and unions want higher pay and work schedules shared further in advance.
Unions also seek better conditions for older staff, including more say over their schedules and continued allowances for working less popular hours.
The strike could make regional journeys harder, but national trains and public transport in major cities are expected to run normally.
The employers and unions have not reached an agreement, and no further steps are specified.
