Asuka Kudo Apologises for His ‘Blossom’ Character on NHK Morning Show
Actor Asuka Kudo appeared on NHK’s morning show Asaichi on October 21 to discuss the drama Blossom.
Kudo plays teacher Tatsuhiko Shimamura, whose actions help set harmful rumours about the heroine, Tama, in motion.
In episode 18, Tama is still struggling with rumours that she once waved a kitchen knife at Shimamura’s home.
The rumours have lasted about two years in the story and have also led to Tama’s younger brother being teased and getting into a fight.
The show’s hosts challenged Kudo about his character’s role, and he apologised, saying he felt pain watching Tama suffer.
Kudo said he wished he could have appeared more and had many things he wanted to say about the character.
