Spain’s PP plans first major rally since deadly train crash
Spain’s People’s Party plans to resume large campaign rallies with an event in Valladolid on November 7.
It will be the first major public party event for its leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, since a train crash in Urda, Toledo, killed 69 people.
The PP says it chose Valladolid because Óscar Puente, the transport minister, leads the Socialist Party list there.
Puente has faced criticism over two deadly train accidents: the latest in Urda and an earlier crash in Adamuz, Córdoba, that killed 46 people.
Puente has ruled out resigning and says he will stay in his post to improve rail safety.
The PP plans to use the rally to criticize the Socialists and will resume its campaign activity ahead of the general election.

I don’t know what level of comfort my resignation can provide to a victim, how much it comforts them if they have lost a child, their father, their brother, a leg... I don’t know, I don’t know if it is relevant, honestly
