Court hears accused allegedly broke into Jesse Baird’s home after rejection
Former NSW police officer Beau Lamarre-Condon is on trial in Sydney over the deaths of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.
Baird, a former television producer and presenter, and Davies, a Qantas flight attendant, were shot dead in February 2024.
Lamarre-Condon has pleaded not guilty to two murder charges.
The court heard that he allegedly broke into Baird’s Paddington home in August 2023, six months before the deaths, and stole his wallet and phone.
Prosecutors say Baird was home during the alleged break-in; the defence says Lamarre-Condon entered using a key Baird had given him.
The alleged break-in followed messages in which Baird did not agree to meet up, according to testimony about their exchange.

What people are saying
It’s quite evident from the text messages that Jesse had absolutely no interest in catching up with the accused at all.
His response is the equivalent of a thumbs up. There’s no follow up to catch up with him.
It was good to see you too and glad you had fun in Euro.
He had a home invasion so he couldn’t text me that as his phone got stolen but we are catching up next Wednesday night for dinner. He said he full chased after the guy too.
