Amazon renames Kindle Unlimited to Kindle+ and expands audiobooks

Amazon has renamed Kindle Unlimited to Kindle+, its subscription for books, comics and magazines.

The service is available through the Kindle app and Amazon's Kindle devices.

The monthly price remains $12, and subscribers can still borrow up to 20 titles at a time.

The main change is a larger audiobook library, with thousands more titles, while reading histories, bookmarks, notes and saved titles carry over.

Authors who self-publish through Kindle Direct Publishing can add audiobooks, including some made with Amazon's free Virtual Voice AI narration service.

AI narration may give readers more listening choices, but it could also reduce work for professional narrators.

Kindle+ is live now, and the core reading service remains largely unchanged.
