Net prices of new medicines rose 35% from 2022 to 2025

A new analysis found net prices for new medicines rose sharply between 2022 and 2025.

The analysis covered 202 medicines launched in 2025 and was conducted by the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review and West Health.

Their median inflation-adjusted net price was $257,000, up from $173,000 in 2022.

Net prices account for manufacturer discounts, while list prices do not.

One in four medicines cost more than $500,000 a year, and another 34% cost between $200,000 and $500,000.

The median inflation-adjusted list price rose 24% over the same period, to $293,000, and the analysis did not explain why net and list prices changed by different amounts.
