Police release blurred footage of serious assault in Meppel
A 28-year-old man was seriously assaulted on the Wheem in Meppel in the early hours of Sunday, June 14.
After an evening out, he had an argument with a group of young people and was followed as he tried to avoid a confrontation.
One person hit him in the face, causing several fractures; he is still not fully recovered.
Police have released blurred camera footage that they say shows the group following him and the assault.
They do not yet know who struck him, so the suspected attacker has until the end of October to come forward.
Police are also asking the other young people in the group to share information, and may publish footage without blurring faces if they do not.
