Pitchwise to buy 42% of Valencia CF and invest €100 million

Valencia CF has agreed to sell a 42% stake to Pitchwise Holdings, a group of long-term investors led by sports executives Ann Rodriguez and Corey Woolfolk.

Pitchwise will buy the shares from Meriton Holdings, which will remain the club’s majority shareholder, while Kiat Lim stays on as president.

The deal values the club at €1.25 billion and includes €100 million in new capital for direct investment in the club.

Pitchwise is backed by investors including KKR co-founders George Roberts and Henry Kravis, as well as Penner Sports Group.

The agreement brings new investors and sports-management experience into the club’s ownership as Valencia prepares for a major change.

That change is the planned move from the current Mestalla ground to the Nou Mestalla, a new stadium intended to hold more than 70,000 fans.

The deal is subject to customary conditions, including regulatory approval.
