Danantara to strengthen PLN services after Batam power disruption

Danantara to strengthen PLN services after Batam power disruption

Indonesia’s state-owned enterprise holding company, Danantara says it will strengthen PLN’s services for households and businesses across the country.

The commitment follows a power supply disruption in Batam on October 12, 2026, which affected PLN Batam customers.

Danantara COO Dony Oskaria apologized and said customer needs would be a priority.

The planned changes aim to improve electricity reliability, service quality and responses to customers.

PLN Batam will come directly under Danantara, as part of the company’s development and transformation plans.

PLN Batam operates without government subsidies or compensation, and Danantara says Batam’s role in the economy and as an investment destination offers room for growth.

Danantara also plans management changes at PLN to improve performance, but no further details or timetable were given.
