Man at Trump Rally Tells Fox Reporter He Came to See a ‘Cult’

At a Donald Trump rally in Rock Hill, South Carolina, Fox News reporter Lucas Tomlinson asked a man named Tom why he had come.

Tom said he was too young to visit Jonestown in the late 1970s and called the rally his chance to see a “cult” up close.

The Jonestown Massacre took place in Guyana in 1978, when 918 members of Jim Jones’s group died in a mass murder-suicide.

Tomlinson realized the man was not a Trump supporter and moved on to interview other attendees.

Trump was in South Carolina to support Republican Senate candidate Darline Graham, who is in a close race with Democrat Annie Andrews.

The race matters because Graham is seeking a full term in a state that has not sent a Democrat to the Senate in nearly three decades.

The midterm election is scheduled for Tuesday, and Trump has been campaigning for Republican candidates in several states.

TomMan interviewed at the rally
Well, in the late 70s, I was a little too young to go to South America for the Jonestown Massacre. But this is as close as I'll ever get, so that's why I'm here. There's nothing like seeing a cult right up front.
