School bus crash in Gronau injures three people seriously

A school bus and a car collided on Gronauer Straße in Gronau, near Epe, on Wednesday morning.

The bus was carrying 56 children and four teachers to swimming lessons.

Police say the car slowed down and the bus driver did not notice in time, causing the bus to hit it from behind.

Three people were seriously injured: a teacher, a child and the car’s driver; eight other children had minor injuries.

The bus driver was not injured, and the children and teachers were taken back to their school for support.

The road was closed while police investigated the crash and documented the scene.
