Saudi-led coalition says it intercepted six aerial threats

The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted and destroyed six aerial threats over the past hours.

It said the threats included three drones, two cruise missiles and one ballistic missile.

The drones were intercepted in Saudi Arabia’s southern region and the Riyadh area, while the cruise missiles were destroyed over the Red Sea.

The ballistic missile was launched towards Yanbu, a city in western Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia said it has the right to take necessary measures to protect its security and people.

It also welcomed the UN Security Council’s condemnation of ongoing Houthi attacks against the kingdom.

The statement did not give details of any further action planned.
