Part of Dordrecht hospital evacuated after steam leaked from a pipe
Part of the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Dordrecht was evacuated on Thursday morning after smoke and steam appeared in a technical area.
The hospital said a leaking pipe released steam and needs a replacement part to be repaired.
The part cannot be delivered today, and the pipe supplies equipment in a room where blood-vessel treatments take place.
Those treatments cannot go ahead today, and at least one appointment has been cancelled.
The hospital is checking whether planned treatments can take place at other locations.
A similar incident happened there last week, when a melted cable caused a power cut on another floor.
The hospital said the two incidents are not connected.
