Meta says more than 10 million people use its Muse AI app

Meta says its AI app Muse has more than 10 million users.

CEO Mark Zuckerberg said over a quarter of Muse’s engaged users use its AI agent to shop, with an average purchase of more than $200.

Muse uses Plaid’s connector to help link purchases with payment services.

Meta sees the shopping activity as a sign that Muse has found a use people want, and plans to grow the service and its revenue.

The company aims to earn money by taking a share of commerce on Muse and charging some users for advanced features.

Zuckerberg said Meta expects Muse to eventually bring in more revenue per user than its existing apps.

Meta also plans to bring Muse to smart glasses launching next month, and has described a future network where users’ assistants could work with friends’ and businesses’ agents.

In the near term, Muse is very compute-intensive to run, but we expect to improve its cost efficiency by more than 10x in the next year, which will enable it to be profitable once the revenue lines are at scale.
