Macklemore ends Free Palestine benefit tour with sold-out London show

Macklemore ended his three-show Free Palestine benefit tour with a concert in London on October 30.

The sold-out show at OVO Arena Wembley featured performances and speeches from artists and activists, including Greta Thunberg, Paloma Faith and Nemahsis.

The tour was organised after Macklemore was dropped from Ed Sheeran’s US tour following his pro-Palestinian statements onstage.

Macklemore said he found it more uncomfortable to stay silent than to speak, and rejected claims that speaking out was brave.

Proceeds will go to organisations supporting Palestinians, including through humanitarian relief, medical care, education and community initiatives.

Thunberg urged the audience to keep campaigning after the concert, saying fundraising and solidarity also need political change.

The tour has ended, but its organisers say the proceeds will support Palestinian communities.
