Seungri denies swinging soju bottle in Seoul restaurant dispute

Former BigBang singer Seungri denies assaulting a man during a dispute at a Seoul restaurant in August.

Seungri’s lawyer says a stranger asked to join Seungri and two companions, and an argument followed after they refused.

Seungri acknowledges picking up a soju bottle, but says he did not swing it at or hit the man.

The man’s complaint alleges that Seungri and his companions assaulted, threatened and confined him.

The two sides give different accounts of what happened, and the allegations have not been resolved.

Seungri left BigBang in 2019 after the Burning Sun scandal, and later served a prison sentence for other offenses.

Police plan to question Seungri as they investigate the complaint.
