PKS Urges Prabowo-Gibran Government to Address Corruption and Food Safety
Ahead of the Prabowo-Gibran government’s second anniversary, Indonesia’s PKS party said the administration had made progress but still had problems to fix.
PKS is a coalition partner, and its secretary-general, Muhammad Kholid, called for stronger oversight of public programmes and procurement.
He said the free nutritious meals programme had been linked to food-poisoning cases and called for them to stop.
Kholid also urged better forest protection and action to prevent corruption in government purchasing.
PKS president Al Muzammil Yusuf said a Constitutional Court ruling on Vice-President Gibran Rakabuming’s school credentials should prompt a review of election rules and fairness.
The court rejected a case seeking Gibran’s disqualification, saying the applicants lacked legal standing and that it could not disqualify him; it also said it found no document proving he had completed equivalent high school education abroad.
PKS said it would act as a channel for public concerns and called for elections to be honest and fair.

What people are saying
We hope there will be zero cases of food poisoning in the future.
We encourage the Asta Cita program to be improved so that recipients are properly targeted, governance is better, and there are zero cases of food-poisoning victims.
PKS views the Gibran diploma controversy as concerning the public’s sense of justice. There is unequal treatment under the law and in government.
Every child of the nation should have an equal opportunity to lead with integrity and competence, not through dispensations. Elections must be honest and fair.
