Man jailed for life for murdering his bed-bound mother in Hampshire
Michael Bowen killed his 65-year-old mother at their home in Hampshire on New Year’s Eve last year.
She had recently had a stroke and was unable to defend herself.
A jury found him guilty of murder after rejecting his defence of diminished responsibility.
He was jailed for life, with a minimum term of 16 years.
The case highlights the harm caused when a person entrusted with someone’s care commits violence against them.
