Toys “R” Us Canada plans departments in 300 Staples stores
Staples Canada will add Toys “R” Us departments under a deal with Next Century Ipco Can ULC, the brand’s new owner.
The stores will also have new Parties “R” Us departments.
A pilot is due to start on Nov.
14 at a Staples store in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
The companies hope to open the departments in roughly 300 Staples stores by the end of 2027.
Next Century bought 150 Toys “R” Us Canada trademarks earlier this year.
The move follows Toys “R” Us Canada’s filing for creditor protection, and the plan would bring the brand back into stores through the Staples partnership.
