Mexico dissolves inactive commission for child protection
Mexico has dissolved its Special Protection Commission for Children and Adolescents, according to a notice published in the Official Gazette.
The commission held three meetings between 2016 and 2018.
A meeting to reinstate it was scheduled for December 2019, but it did not take place, and the commission remained inactive.
The Interior Ministry said the conditions behind the commission’s creation had changed and its planned work had been interrupted for a long time.
It concluded that keeping the commission’s aims and operating structure was no longer viable or efficient.
