Rolex Opens Boutique in New Titlis Tower in the Swiss Alps
Rolex has opened a boutique in the new Titlis Tower on Mount Titlis above Engelberg, Switzerland.
The 56-metre tower was created from a former telecommunications structure and designed by Herzog & de Meuron.
The boutique has about 200 square metres of sales space, employs eight people and is open every day.
The shop pairs luxury watches with views of glaciers and snowy peaks, though heavy visitor traffic has already broken some wooden floor-level ventilation covers.
Rolex-owned Bucherer operates the store, which an industry expert estimates cost 8 million to 10 million Swiss francs to fit out; the exact amount is not public.
The store is seen as a marketing investment rather than a likely source of significant profit, with images of it circulating on Chinese social media.
Bucherer operates seven of the 13 Rolex boutiques opened worldwide in 2026, and is due to take over a Rolex flagship in New York in early 2027; a larger Bucherer shop is planned for Titlis’s new mountain station, scheduled for 2029.

We had a huge rush right after the opening, now fortunately it has become somewhat quieter.
around 8 to 10 million francs
This can hardly make money, but it certainly helps marketing.
