Rockstar Says Its Next Game After GTA 6 Should Arrive Faster

Rockstar expects its next game after GTA 6 to take less time to make than the current game.

Development head Phil Hooker said the studio can reuse technology, tools and experience built during GTA 6’s production.

GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, after more than eight years of development.

Rockstar has not announced what its next major game will be, and its comments do not promise that another Grand Theft Auto will arrive soon.

The studio grew from 2,441 employees around the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 to 4,711 staff across 12 offices.

Reusing GTA 6’s foundations could shorten future development, much as Vice City followed GTA 3 in less than a year.

For now, Rockstar is focused on GTA 6, and the timing and identity of its next project remain unknown.
