Education and health accounted for 32% of Saudi spending in Q3

Saudi Arabia spent about 110 billion riyals on education and health and social development in the third quarter of 2026.

That was 32% of the government’s 343 billion riyals in spending during the quarter.

In the first nine months of the year, spending on those sectors reached about 390 billion riyals, with health and social development spending up 4% and education spending up 2% from a year earlier.

The spending supports public services and human development, priorities included in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 economic transformation plan.

The government also spent about 10 billion riyals on basic infrastructure and transport in the third quarter, as regional tensions posed challenges for trade and supply chains.

Saudi Arabia has launched logistics routes and a marine war-risk insurance pool to help keep trade moving and manage shipping risks.

Total government spending in the first nine months was 1.103 trillion riyals, up 8% from the same period a year earlier.
