Avery the Poké Kid’s Father Asks for a Card Honoring His Son

Avery the Poké Kid’s father has asked The Pokémon Company to make a card honoring his son.

Avery was a popular voice in the Pokémon Trading Card Game community and died in September 2026, aged 12, after seven years with pancreatic cancer.

A video shared by his family after his death went viral when it showed Avery opening a pack and pulling a 30th Anniversary Jirachi card.

His father, Christian Garcia, made the request in an Instagram video on November 6, saying he hoped Avery could be remembered through the game he loved.

Fans have suggested a card featuring Jirachi, the Pokémon Avery pulled in the video.

The family says it does not approve of sales using Avery’s name or likeness and has asked sellers to remove those listings.

The sources do not say whether The Pokémon Company will make a card or respond to Garcia’s request.
