Saudi Arabia Opens Medical Innovation Center Using Robotics and AI

Saudi Arabia’s Interior Minister opened the Prince Nayef Center for Excellence and Medical Innovation to develop health services.

The center is part of the Medical Cities Operating Program under the Ministry of Interior’s medical services.

Its facilities include robots for spinal surgery and a Da Vinci 5 system, as well as a hybrid interventional radiology suite.

An artificial intelligence lab, set up with HUMAIN, is among the center’s facilities, alongside medical AI platforms, an automated pharmacy and a mental health innovation lab.

The center aims to use technology to support medical decisions and improve care, while also supporting training and knowledge-sharing with global partners.

It is intended to help medical cities prepare to operate and develop care models that improve patients’ experience and the efficiency of medical practice.
