Three daycare workers charged with more than 400 alleged acts of abuse

A manager and two caregivers at a daycare in Ariel were charged with more than 400 alleged acts of abuse and assault.

The West Bank daycare cared for 17 babies and toddlers, some as young as six months.

Prosecutors say the alleged abuse included restricting children’s breathing, restraining and force-feeding them, and leaving them alone in a dark room.

They also allege that some of the acts took place in front of other children.

The defendants face charges including abuse and assault of children or other helpless people.

Prosecutors asked for the three to remain in custody until the legal proceedings are over, citing the alleged acts and the children’s ages.

The allegations are set out in an indictment, and the legal proceedings will determine what happens next.
