Mexico City traffic disrupted by Cadillac F1 event and San Judas crowds

Mexico City roads faced several disruptions on October 28, including closures linked to an event, religious crowds and protests.

The city’s Citizen Security Secretariat had warned of gatherings, cycling events and large events in several boroughs.

The Cadillac F1 Team held its first show run on Paseo de la Reforma, drawing traffic restrictions around the event area.

After it ended, the road’s side lanes reopened, but its central lanes remained closed.

Crowds arriving at the San Hipólito temple kept Avenida Hidalgo closed between Eje Central and Eje 1 Poniente.

Protests also blocked Avenida Juárez and other streets in Cuauhtémoc, while an accident caused a partial closure on a highway in Tamaulipas.

Officials advised drivers to use alternate routes, including Circuito Interior, Insurgentes and nearby avenues.
