Indonesia Targets 3 Million Free Home Certificates for 2027

Indonesia's government aims to give low-income households 3 million free home certificates in 2027, up from a target of 1 million this year.

The programme is being run by the housing ministry together with the land affairs ministry.

It is intended for people receiving government assistance, some recipients of subsidised mortgages, and low-income people who build their own homes.

The government says it will use national statistics and social-economic data to check who qualifies.

Alongside the certificates, it is targeting repairs to 400,000 homes and has lowered interest on business financing through PNM from 22% to 8%.

These measures are meant to improve housing and support family economies.

The government hopes to complete the home repairs and meet both targets.

We hope the Home Renovation program in other regions can also be completed soon so that the target of 400,000 housing units can be achieved.
