Ducks rookie Roger McQueen makes NHL debut wearing No. 95

Roger McQueen made his NHL debut for the Anaheim Ducks against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.

The 20-year-old center was called up from the American Hockey League, where he had scored three goals in four games for San Diego.

Anaheim selected McQueen 10th overall in the 2025 NHL Draft and gave him No.

95, the number of Lightning McQueen in Pixar’s “Cars.”

The connection continued before the game, when McQueen took his rookie warm-up lap to music from the film’s soundtrack.

He played 11 minutes and 26 seconds without a point, recording one shot on goal.

The Ducks lost 4-2 to Calgary in front of a sellout crowd.

McQueen now begins his NHL career, with coach Joel Quenneville saying he has the potential for a strong career; his father has said he wants him to be known as a player, not a Disney character.
