Mediobanca profit rises 13% to €1.1 billion in first nine months
Mediobanca, an Italian bank, reported net profit of €1.1 billion in the first nine months of 2026, up 13% from a year earlier.
Its revenue rose 9% to about €3 billion, with income from lending and fees both increasing.
The results came despite higher taxes and a return to more normal levels of credit risk costs.
Its corporate and investment banking business also grew, earning more from work on company deals.
Wealth management showed signs of stabilising, with €700 million in net new deposits and investments in the third quarter.
The results come as Mediobanca is expected to come under Intesa Sanpaolo after Intesa completes its offer for Monte dei Paschi.
Chief executive Alessandro Melzi d’Eril said the bank would keep its focus on clients and its business amid continued economic uncertainty.
Mediobanca reported net profit of €1,090.1 million for the first nine months of 2026, up 13.3% year on year.
Revenue rose 8.9% to €2,925.6 million.
The bank said its 2026 guidance, issued in August, remained unchanged despite macroeconomic uncertainty and market volatility.
Third-quarter revenue was €977.4 million and net profit was €378.9 million.
