Rieter’s appointed CEO steps aside over pay dispute

Daniel Lippuner will not become CEO of Rieter after a disagreement over his compensation, especially his bonus.

Rieter is a textile machinery maker based in Winterthur, Switzerland.

Lippuner was named in late September to replace Thomas Oetterli and was due to start on November 1.

Georg Stausberg has taken the CEO role instead; he previously led Barmag, which Rieter acquired in February.

The change comes as Rieter faces a prolonged lack of demand growth and has struggled to get back on course under Oetterli.

Stausberg has more than three decades of experience in the international textile machinery industry, but the company has not said what steps he will take next.
