Liam Sceats advances to Lamborghini junior driver shootout

New Zealand driver Liam Sceats has reached Lamborghini’s junior driver shootout, one of seven drivers selected from nearly 50 candidates assessed this year.

The 21-year-old moved from single-seater racing to Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia this season, driving with Polish co-driver Gustaw Wisniewski for Vincenzo Sospiri Racing.

The pair won four races and finished second in the Asian championship, just three points behind the title winners.

They also finished fourth in the World Finals Pro standings, while Sceats was the leading rookie and highest-placed Lamborghini Junior.

The shootout is a chance to compete for a Lamborghini contract and show he is ready for the next level of racing.

It is scheduled for November 4–5 at Vallelunga, and Sceats says his focus is on proving his speed and teamwork.

He hopes to build a career in GT and endurance racing, with the long-term goal of representing a manufacturer at events such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
